Izmir's Goal in Tourism: Hosting as Many Tourists as Its Population

In his assessment for TekReferans.com, our club's President Aydın Tokbaş stated that the potential of Izmir tourism has not yet been fully realised, and said that the city's long-term goal should be to host as many tourists as its population. Our President also drew attention to the change experienced in city hotels after the pandemic: companies' working habits changed, business travel largely turned into day trips, and a significant portion of meetings moved online. The average 2.5-day stay balance that city hotels have relied on for years has also shifted with this picture.
